Typical jaded ex server response. I have been in the service industry as a manager not a server so I know the fucking routine. I love you how want to try and call me out on the amount that I tipped. If the person is good I will take care of them. If they are a piece of shit that is constantly in the weeds they without as much as an acknowledgment of my needs they don't get shit.

Sure the fuck can. I've been in too many positions, involved in the restaurant industry far too long to believe that you just walked in off the street and some dumbass said "Hey, this guy is your new manager, and doesn't know dick about the business." In fact, not a single one of my customers will put someone in a MIT position without an extensive background as a server.

nothing. the tip, imo, is for the refilling of drinks, checking on your meal, etc... not for walking out the door and handing you food. besides, those people make more than 2 an hour i'm sure.

In reality I don't eat at Sonic, but if I were to the same tipping convention applies. 20% or more unless they are a total screw off. They work harder than I do on a daily basis, and should get paid accordingly.

If I'm not mistaken, the Sonic chicks make like $8/hr. I still tip a buck fifty or so.

I don't do chili's, and have never picked a to go order up at curbside, but I'd treat it the same as picking up a To Go order from the bar. I tip on to go orders, because it takes the bartender away from tipping customers, to prepare it, check it, add condiments, etc.

Most ppl don't tip bartenders for to go orders, and it pisses the bartenders off. I'm definitely in the minority. But, again, I've been there, so I know what's right. Also, if I'm picking up to go orders, it's for 10+ ppl, usually a business lunch. And that takes a bit of time to assemble, more so than a single order to go.
