    They do have a removable proprietary battery in the hand grip, and the cartridges are nitrogen charged, but you still need the battery to activate the 50,000 volts. You are supposed to spark test them before every shift to make sure the capacitors are charged.

    The battery can last 4 months to a year depending on use.

      They burn out that fast? Is it because of the voltage discharge or what? (serious question on this one as I've considered a taser)
