Yeah, people actually PAY to use it as well. Have some customers that want to federate to AIM and have to pay a subscription.

When I first learned this, I looked it up and AOL charges for that per user, per year and Cisco (for Jabber) passes it along. It's like 3-4 dollars a user after discount - but still.

AIM and Yahoo!chat were the easiest "goddamnit I can't go spend $50 at the bar, who wants to fuck?" portals ever created for the early 20-somethings in post-Y2K scare history.

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

Well, to be clear.. We used it exclusively until we were bought by a larger company, so officially we use MS Office Communicator, but we use AIM too. Mainly so we can maintain a group chat for our team. Rather than having to invite people to one daily.

Company uses MSM Communicator for inter-office/corporate/other site chat. All other IMs are blocked.

Man...I totally forgot about using it. All my buddies that I chat with I text now on the smart phone.
