  • Getting ready to insure a classic...looking at my options.

Getting ready to insure my Grand National so I can start driving it occasionally while my truck is in the shop. I'd love to get insurance that will cover its actual value (classic and kinda rare, performance upgrades)...but the car isn't quite show quality due to needing a good paint job and very minor body repairs. I don't want the typical basic insurance because most insurance companies will just call it an 85 Regal which ain't worth shit..so I'll get fucked if anything happens to it. I'd like a policy that will pay what the car is really worth if anything bad were to happen. Suggestions?

we have an agreed value policy with american modern with unlimited miles per year

They will want pics of all 4 sides of the car, a few interior pics, trunk pic, and engine pic. If you ask for it to be insured for some crazy amount then they will come out and do an appraisal, but if your looking for something around a $20k total loss then they should do it no problem

Yeah...its not a show car...but its in better shape than a lot of the beat to hell GN's and T-Types I've seen. Motor alone is worth about 8 grand. I'd guess its worth around 20-22k as it sits.

Give us a call and we can look at your options for your vehicle.

We have really great rates available at Allstate through Hagerty. As black50 advised, we can issue an agreed value policy based on the condition and value of your vehicle.

        Let us know.

PM me your business ph# and name, please.

I am also shopping for same type of insurance. The two quotes I have gotten are through Haggerty and Infinity Classic Collectors. Infinity has a few options. Infinity beat the pants off Haggerty on a 6000 mile a year policy.

I have Hagerty for the fastback. Pretty easy to deal with. Haven't had to make a claim though.

My 92 coupe is insured with Continental Western Group (CWG). I can change the milage and stated value anytime it needs to change, and right now I've got it insured for $7500 and 5k miles per year for $117/year premium and it can't be my daily and has to be garaged.

I've insured both newer sports cars and classics with South and Western, never had a claim so I can't attest to how their customer service is. They give you options based on how many miles you want to drive, I had mine at 5k a year.

Second mention to American Modern. I think I pay like $12/mo for $18,500 agreed value on my 1966 Mustang.

I took the photos as requested and they insured it. Easy Peasy.

I've had great luck with Grundys. No mileage limits- must have newer vehicle and garage.
