  • Holes in yard

I get these just about every night in my yard. Are these from snakes? I've never seen a snake in my yard.

      Holes in Yard

Are you close to water or in a low area ? Looks like crawfish holes.

Stick your finger in one and see if anything moves. Have someone video it, so we can see what kind of animal attacks you!

Can't see the pics but we get a fair amount of those. They are usually just flat holes.

If it's shallow (like a small animal digging) it could be squirrels or armadillos looking for food.

They look like someone is taking a pole and sticking it in the ground. Perfect shape, about 2 inches wide and looks to be burrowing UP not down. The closest water is probably half a mile away.

They are all over my yard and only in the back yard.

I'd say either the cicada killers or crawfish if you're near a creek/pond... Side note: Your grass looks nice.

2" seems a little too big for the hornets, although otherwise your description matches.. Mine are usually between 0.5" - 1".

I know nothing about crawfish except that I will probably be eating a few tomorrow night.

                  Crawfish

Are there ever mounds piled around them?

Put some bacon or hotdog on a string and pull one out.

Thanks. I still have a dallis grass issue.

These go pretty deep in the ground. I haven't stuck a stick to measure though. At least 6 inches that i can see.

Just what you see. The little mounds around the edge.

Hmmmm, it could be a TX Rat Snake.... Side note: Kill the dallis grass.

Maybe moles? It would have to be within a few yards of water to be crawfish.

Yea, looking at some pics on line these are similar to some pics I see. But, i am no where near a water source.
