This is something I never understood. My wife and I spend so much time at work that we rarely see each other and if we slept in different beds or rooms we would basically never see each other. Might as well get a divorce and get a room mate instead.

Call me a sensitive bitch. I have to admit that waking up in the morning and my wife not being there actually hurts my feelings. But she gets up and goes to the couch because sometimes I start to snore. And I am only home for about 45 days a year so she is more used to the quiet. Still, I would rather her be there in the morning.

My folks sleep in separate rooms and have for 20 years. I have told my wife that that is not an option for us.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

i actually have lots of trouble sleeping without the wife in the bed. I end up sleeping long ways and tossing and turning all night.

I have no clue why. Maybe her snoring keeps me asleep all night.

I'm the same way, if my wife isnt there it takes forever to fall asleep.

Once I'm asleep I don't give a fuck who's in bed because I'm OUT, but I do like waking up next to my wife. It always weirds me out to wake up in our bed without if she happens to be out of town.

I have a King size bed that the wife and I have always slept on opposite sides of. We can go entire days without talking unless it involves the kids and it seems to work fairly well but then again, I have the "If you piss me off, I'm driving you to DFW and putting your ass back on a plane until you straighten up."

My parents started doing this when they were full time RVing. They bought a house and sleep in different rooms now, but they are also in their mid 70's, and have a few health issues that makes it better for them both to get restful sleep. They've also been married 52 years, so I don't think it is having a negative impact on them.

It sucks not being with my lady when one of us is traveling... I can't imagine having separate rooms.
