Going to Vegas...! What to do?

Old lady and I will be flighting out to Vegas Friday and will be there for weekend with some friends. Any does and dnt's? I've been there before but its been like 10 years since. I heard food/drinks are very expensive. Where are the places that wont break the bank?

Any good spots to hand out at? Any pointers would be good. We are staying at the Mirage.

Yeah that was the last time I went...was young and broke! Not that I'm rich now but I tip well when its due/earned.

I look at it like "how much would this drink cost me normally?"

I usually tip $10-20 per drink depending on what I'm drinking. a triple McCallan 12 with an ice cube is a lot more expensive than $20 at a bar, so I was happy to drop a jeffro on each one, and they kept coming as quick as I could drink them

I typically favor the old strip....Hennessey's Tavern is a good Irish bar for afternoon hangout on Freemont - http://www.hennesseyslasvegas.com/. They're machines aren't too tight either. Last time we were there my wife hit a royal flush on bar top video poker, and I hit 4-Aces playing quarters another day there.
