You will not be disappointed, we used to go a few times a year, the kids love the beaches on Mustang Island, the Aquarium/USS Lexington is an all day excursion and fun too.

Check out something like the great wolf lodge. It's at least safe and clean.

Personally I would keep it simple like grocery stores and parks or well anywhere the hot milfs are hanging out but being 2 it's a little more difficult to use the mother passed In giving birth sympathy.

That sounds fun for both of us

Our family went in March, daughter had a cheer competition. My 2 Year old son LOVED the water. It was kinda cold so we didnt spend too much time there. We took the ferry across to crystal beach, he enjoyed that ride. Its a long drive alone with a 2 YO though.

Good advice. If you decide on Port A the beach has a ton of jellyfish washed up.

We took a trip to Destin for our son's second birthday and he had a blast. I was a little nervous about him flying, but we planned ahead to make it as easy as possible. He had his own seat and I brought his car seat on the plane so it would be familiar, just like a car ride. Portable dvd player and some gummy treats to chew to help pop his ears. We got all the "looks" as we boarded each departure, but actually got compliments at the end of each flight. People had forgotten we were even there. It really went well.

We stayed on the beach at the Silver Beach towers and it was very nice. The beach was clean and there was plenty to do around town. Plenty of kid friendly themed restaurants like http://www.ajs-destin.com/ or http://www.fudpucker.com/ or http://www.mcguiresirishpub.com/. There's a family recreation center, but it's only open during the summer. http://www.destintrack.com/

About 15 minutes west of Destin is a pretty neat aquarium. http://www.gulfarium.com/

We also went to the Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola. http://www.navalaviationmuseum.org/
Admission is free and you could easily kill a day there.

All in all, it was fantastic. Jr. had a blast every day and there was no shortage of fun stuff to do and it didn't cost a fortune.

Been back 4 times since, and every year more and more stuff is closed down. The economy has taken a dump down there. Were trying Port A next month. Haven't been there since I was a kid. That's sad to hear. My honeymoon was there as well, 7 years ago. I enjoyed SPI

Were headed to Port A in June for a Wed - Sun vacation. Mainly just so the entire fam of 11 or so can go and chillax together. I think it's the first time my Neice (5) and Nephew (3) will be seeing the ocean...

I have thought about Destin as well.

                              Some good ideas in here.

                              Thank you all
