I got shot protecting innocent Iraqi's and my friends died doing the same. Warren v DC says that no cop has an obligation to do anything but write tickets. Tell me, when someone mentions the word "Cop" is the first thought "Officer Friendly" or jack booted thug?

Do you think about the nice guy you can run to and he will protect you or the guy cruising around in his AC SUV writing tickets and, if you cross him on a bad day, you will either get a ticket, your pet killed or if you really piss him off, killed or imprisoned on trumped up charges?

Soldiers are supposed to be the knife blade of the Republic. We are supposed to fuck people up overseas, it's in our job description. Cops aren't. Ever consider cops create their own problems? A cop t bones your sister and then blames it on her (as we had in the other story), are you likely to be more or less inclined to go with an officer without a fight?

If memory serves, Matt was a Marine. I don't know that he actually deployed but (and I've been wrong before) he took the same oath as me at least once and the fact that he views the police actions against Americans equal to those things done in a war zone is troubling. It should trouble everyone that any officer sees an equivalence between a constitutionally protected American citizen and someone in a war zone. When was the last time a cop dealt with 155 shells buried in the road to kill him? Cops can quit, soldiers can't.
