  • Most hated craft beers thread

With this huge hipster craft beer fad rolling out a new pine tar flavored IPA brew every minute...what are the worst craft beers you've had?

I typically don't try to remember the shit ones, but mine are:

    -Daves pale ale
-yellow pills or something like that
    -hop devil

    Many many more...

Whatever the fuck it is...it's terrible. And more hipster than PBR.

I will admit I prefer stouts and porters, but know a terrible beer of any kind when I try it.

dales is far from terrible, as is mamas little yella pils. theyre not fucking awesome, but theyre enjoyable, cheap, and canned.

if i remember right, i've seen you mention several times that franconia's dunkel is one of your favorite beers. ive had it...several times. it's good, but nothing i'd rave about

Wasn't cheap the last time I had it. Maybe that's why I expected more?

I would rather chilly willy potters plastic bottle special than pay $4 per can of those brews.

Arrogant Bastard Ale is awful. Red Seal Ale tastes like mosquito repellant. Lagunita's IPA is similarly bad.

I've thought the same, their double bastard isn't much better. My wife loves it though for some reason.

Elliot's Phoned Home by Cedar Creek wasn't a good one for me, way overcarbonated. It may have been a bad batch but I had 4 cans that were all the same. It went to market, I paid for it, it sucked.

Martin House's Day Break to me tastes like the water came straight from the Trinity and it smells the same. I'm not a fan of the Rubberneck Red either but their Imperial Texan and Pretzel Stout are awesome.

Rochefort 10 is way over rated. It's okay but not the mecca of Belgian beers I expected.

I really didn't like Alaskan's Tropplebock. Lots of booze but almost no body. It'll get you drunk but Triple anything should be a thick beer.

Maui Brewing's Onion Mild was bad experiment. Drinkable but onions and beer should never be mixed.

Twisted Pine's Ghost Face Killa is probably the worst beer I've ever had. Yeah it was hot, really hot but that's not why it was bad. It had some kind of oil floating around in it. It was almost like they took the worst batches of everything they've ever made and poured some pepper extract into.

He definitely had a batch come out "different". I talked to him about it, and he let me know. Then I proceeded to tell him how much of a shitty Support class he was in BF4.

The Lawn Ranger and Scruffy's are where it's at though.

Like many of the "trendy" beers, I'm convinced it closes sales solely based on its name, so people can "look cool" ordering it. Kind of like the same dickheads that are 21 that go on and on about how they love Guinness.

I like Guinness, not because I think it's a great beer but because it's consistent and they do a pretty good job insuring a decent product makes it to consumers. You have to invest in special taps, gasses and fittings to serve it. Typically bars that invest enough to have it will take care and make sure it's not coming out of dirty lines or stored/served at the wrong temperatures.

My local bar (more of a bowling alley) here has about 15 taps but most of the beers taste like leather. It's a combination of probably storing kegs outside, dirty lines and just plain old beer. Guinness is always good though and I'm sure the ABC ones probably are as well. The craft beers taste like swamp water/dirty shoes though.

Sounds like you're drinking drafts at Bobby Valentine's.

I wish I could remember the name of it, but during the brewfest VIP hour there was a huge line at one booth for some limited beer that is hard to find. So I got in it figuring these people must know something I don't. It was by far the worst beer I had the entire day, I ended up pouring it out. It was some kind apricot sour beer.

Dave's Pale Ale, huh? I'll have to look for that one. I don't like Pilsner's, so Mama's doesn't do much for me, though I did kill a sixer on the golf course one day. It's the most tolerable one out there for me.

I've drain poured a few, but mainly due to my own taste. Ska Brewing's True Blonde comes to mind first. It gets great reviews and I couldn't stand it. Deep Ellum's Dallas Blonde is another. Austin Beerworks Peacemaker. I'm sure I'll think of some others. I just don't care for blondes and pilsner's. I generally steer clear of lager's as well, but there are some that I like.
