Have you talked with the homeowner? What'd they say? The person would have at least gone to the detective had it been me working it...

Door kicked in, guy doesn't live there (cops let him go and he walks away from the house). Plus he was carrying stuff outta the house. I'm confused. From the info, sounds like beavis and butthead was posing as the police.

They called him, and left a message. This is the house that the actual owner died a while back, but before he died he basically gave everything to his son that lives in the DFW area. There has been a bunch of people that screw around at the house, and when we get someone suspicious that is doing something like creeping around over there, we call the police. This time, we actually saw someone kick the damn door in. AND the officer actually walked up while the thief was walking outside carrying shit. And nothing was done about it.

I guess we all know how to commit burglary and get away with it, just be sure to do it when the owner is unreachable.

They might know more about the situation that made them decide to let him go. Sounds like a dope house in the making...

Fucking sucks. This was a not so good neighborhood a few years back, but it seemed to clean up. Now, in the last 18 months, the natives are getting restless again.

That seriously sucks, because it's not like you can move away. My mom is dealing with a very similar situation. She's been there for 20 years and the climate has changed. /

try calling the owner yourself and beg/plead with him to do something with the house... the longer it sits there empty the more appealing it is to criminals.
