Magnus, I am your father. You need to ask your mother about a man named Calvin Klein.

Got into a fight at church preschool over the General Lee. My first cuss words were all learned from Sheriff Buford T. Justice.

Bred. My boy races motocross. All he thinks about and talks about revolves around 2 wheels. Been that way since he could crawl.

Pops was building hot rods before I was born. I was sanding cars and turning wrenches as soon as I could walk. Hand me a piece of sand paper now and I may punch you. Not sure where I turned into a two wheel guy but it was early. Traded my moms Jeweler a nice head unit and six disc for a KX500 when I was 14. That was all she wrote. I am embarrassed to say I have owned way to many cars and motorcycle's in my life time.

I'm sure it can be either or both, but for myself, I was born with it. I had no role models growing up that we're into cars. I just knew what I liked and working/saving for an old mustang at 15 was almost involuntary. It was just going to happen.

It's brought me many things including character building and life lessons. It's also brought me some of the best friends I could ever hope to have.

Born, my dad hates cars and thinks people that work on them in their driveway are trashy. He's the one that knows so little about cars and doesn't care to learn, that southwest volvo had his car for 6 months and didn't even fix it. Sent it back with warped rotors, torn cv boots and a bad ETM. Still to this day, he doesn't recognize that even though he thinks it is a stupid hobby, it is at least worth something.

I'll add to mine, that while my dad used to go through cars every year like I did for awhile, by the time I was born that stage of his life was over. I really don't remember anything car related in my family until my oldest sister got her first car, a 66 Mustang when I was about 7, and it didn't last long. My dad was handy with cars, but didn't do anything crazy or overly elaborate. My parents were stunned when I pulled my '87 hatch into their garage when I was 22 and proceeded to pull out the T5 and do a clutch job on it.

My parents where not into cars really, my Mom always owned Mustangs which had some influence on my choices. They did support it as a hobby by buying me tools and not stopping me(and friends) from tearing things apart in there driveway/garage over the years. For sure was a couple of times I got in over my head and had to have some outside help.

Like a lot of people in this thread growing up was hotwheels (use to sort them by rows/color.) and legos. Was always taking things apart growing up.

                      Born...

My parents are cars are just transportation people. Same for the rest of the family. Dad did however get me a go-cart when I was little which lead to motocross which just snowballed from there.

My Boy is going to be 3 in a few months and he loves hanging out in the garage with me.

I'm so excited for this. I plan on buying my son and daughter cars at 10-12 and wrenching with them, in 10 years lol. Something my dad and I never did or had in common.

I also remember when I was super young, driving in the rear facing seat of our chevy celebrity wagon and pointing out all the "cool cars". My parents always questioned it, they should have known.

My dad was a doctor and a work a holic (I'm the same less the Doctor part but I try to spend as much time as possible with him when I'm home) so I didn't see him much until I was a teenager. It's funny now that I work on my dad's cars at their ranch because he doesn't know how to. But, he enjoys standing there with me just like my son does.

And you are in for treat. I swapped out the chrome bumper caps for color matched ones on my silverado last night. My boy was standing next to me and handing me things i didn't need the whole time. He giggled and smiled everytime I told him he was doing a great job. I swore up and down I didn't want Kids for 28 years before we had him. Now I can't imagine life without him and look forward to all the Father/Son stuff.

My daughter is 3 and loves helping me in the garage. The only issue is that she hates loud cars, lol. Jeffs cobra scared the shit out of her once, doesn't help that it's the loudest mustang ever. My project is pretty loud also and she always yells at me when we go out there (DON'T START DADDY'S CAR!!!!!). Sounds like our dads are fairly similar, except my dad still thinks I know jack shit about cars, lol.

My family are a bunch of wrench heads and I'm the only one who has no skills with vehicles but I am probably the one that loves vehicles the most. From my ugly DJ5 to my old 66 Mustang to my F250 SD I love each and every one of them. I'll talk to them and figure out a name for them. We'll 'talk' while driving and I'll cuss them when they die.

I love my cars and trucks but I have to have someone do pretty much everything for me. I have picked up and enjoyed doing painting cars though the sanding gets annoying.
                              I wear a Fez. Fez-es are cool

Bred. I have a half-brother that was born into the same car family but he couldn't care much less about them.

Myself, well... I've never known a day that I didn't care for cars. I could tell '55-57 Chevys apart before I was two. My dad was proud of that, lol.
