(KTBC in Austin) Video shows a Georgetown Police Officer tripping and pushing students as they rush the field seconds after a high school state soccer game ends.

Rohan Gupta, a student at Vandegrift High School, posted the video to YouTube. The Vandegrift girls soccer won their first state championship beating Wile 1-0.

As the clock hit zero, students jumped out of the stands and on to the field. Over the loud speakers the announcer can be heard telling the crowd to stay of the field.

Watch the lower right side of your screen at about 8-seconds into the video to see the officer apparently trip one young man, who ends up limping off the field. The officer tries to trip a second person, then grabs another. Is his behavior a little over the top or is he within his rights as an officer to trip people to keep them off the field?

Georgetown Police Captain Roland Waits says the department is investigating. The officer was working security at the event.

Hope the officer gets charged with battery and loses his job. If the kids had told the LEO to stay off the field and the LEO rushed it to be tripped by the kids, how would that have gone down?

It's also a crock of shit that cops get paid while on suspension. But I guess the lesson is respect THE AUTHORITY or you will be limping home, get your skull split open, get tazed like there is no tomorrow, etc.
