Did the 78 or 79 Mustang have the inner door handle low?

For some reason, I was thinking I saw a 78 or 79 that the inside door handle was really low like the way old Datsun 280z's were. Was I dreaming? Hittin' the pipe?

Yep. At least the three 79 coupes I had did.

Yep, all 1979 Mustangs were built that way. The handle went to the top in 1980.

I'd kinda like some of those doors. I even like the idea of manual windows. Definitely different.

79 as already stated. 78 was a M2.

You can swap the 79 door innards into a later model door. With a replacement door panel you would be set.
