It's impossible to get a backpack under the back seat of a Taurus.

That doesn't excuse the officer's actions, but at least it shows that the driver was lying too.

Absolutely pathetic that you have to try to rationalize their actions.

The reality is probably that, due to the investigation, the surveillance team knew he was transporting it. The officers knew they were taking down a sure thing (a pound of weed is slightly more than the typical "personal use" quantity) and fucked it all up... then conspired and lied about it. All 5 "officers" need to be shit-canned if not for their brazen criminality but for their sheer stupidity in fucking up a slam dunk seizure/arrest.
Or put in jail for 30 days for contempt of court and perjury, then more time for falsifying a police report and I'm pretty sure more charges could be filed for the police fucking up like this.

                            Was he rationalizing their actions?

Or was he proving a point

03trubluGT : And it jumped in the backpack in the back seat?????
                            Craizie : Under the seat.
                            03trubluGT : Tomato / tomato.
DON SVO : The officers said it was in plain view, which it wasn't.
03trubluGT : How many cars can you get a backpack under the back seat???
DON SVO : Does it really matter where the fuck the backpack was? Nope. ... I'm inclined to believe he had the bag under the seat

The next logical question is can you fit a backpack under the seat of an unmodified Taurus? If no then backpack was in plain view

Assuming it was unmodified. Its a moot point.

How do you figure its impossible to get it under the backseat when the part of the backseat that your butt goes on comes out and lifts up in a taurus It would definitely leave the backseat sitting higher than normal but a back pack will go under the backseat.
