No idea as it's dependent on the sales volume and profit margin of the roofing company where he is employed. That said, he seems like a fairly key guy, so I would hope he's making at least $100k base or so and some incentive compensation based on a few previously agreed metrics.

Nothing wrong with going to bat for a raise. If you/he does not say something, you/he can't complain.

However, do not ever make the mistake of thinking you're irreplaceable. If you don't like it or the answer you get - it's time to move on or just suck it up and keep going.

Also, there are alternatives to a raise. A percentage of GP and other kickers for assisting with the sales side.

He said Roofers are some of the biggest scam artist on the planet. And I have to agree, I've never met one that wasn't. Sometimes they even pay for advertising one year and then try and circumvent the advertising fees the next by sending out PM's and emails so as not to pay the advertising fee again.

I would disagree. Honestly I can not say that i have ever been part of anything resembling a scam

I target a roof, go to the door, and throw a sales pitch. If the inspection pans out and i can get the roof totaled then they get a new roof. If it the roof doesnt have damage that an insurance company will cover then i can forget about it. I will not be paid for such a roof. Their insurance covers a failing roof. I fail to see where there is any scam
