Nope, my '02 silverado has 240k on it and runs like a champ, so far only had to put an alternator and fuel pump on it.

It gets poor mileage, however I don'thave the lightest right foot.

        Rather have a 6.0.

MDX's are great vehicles. Honda Pilots are the "non luxury" versions of them, but are still pretty nice.

You can get the pre-07 MDX's for a good price, 07-up are a bit pricier. I like ours, has every option on it with 87k on it, no issues. AWD is pretty nice during the ice.

They're actually pretty solid when you fix the few common problems.

Nobody has mentioned a used Land Cruiser yet? I'm surprised. Perfect larger SUV that's comfortable, great off road, and very reliable being a Toyota. Holds it's resale probably better than all listed as well if that's important to you.

I have a 2004 v6 2wd Explorer with a shit ton of custom work done to it. 104k miles. Clean title. Never wrecked. I've had it since 2004. Just had a tune up (brand new new plugs, wires, brakes, master cylinder, springs, shocks, egr, tps, etc). Tags and inspection good through August and it always passes fine. Even the tint is legal up front. It has always run perfectly. It has custom paint, shaved emblems, custom interior including new carpet, custom seats, suede everywhere, several layers of dynamat throughout, huge sound system (JL Audio and Alpine), high amp alternator, headrest monitors, rear view camera, rims, lowered, tint, grills, remote start, and the list goes on forever. It has always been babied and was intended to be a show vehicle, but I never entered it into a show. So, if it ever does hit a show it will be "new". I have started dumping money into my other vehicle, and don't even drive the Explorer anymore. Kinda makes me sad, because it is a kickass ride. I would love to see it go to a board member who will treat her right. I will absolutely lose my ass on it when it sells, but I have come to grips with that.

Minor issues - It needs the rear hatch panel replaced (they crack), but I just bought the new piece that is supposed to fix the cracking issue. It's not a big piece, so it should be a relatively cheap spray and install. It has some door dings on the front driver door. Needs new sun visors inside or a patch for the mounting holes. I didn't like the cheap looking mirrors so I pulled them to just shave those and do suede, but they got lost or tossed somewhere along the way. It may need a battery, as I haven't driven it in a few weeks. I can try to charge this one and save it, but it may be toast. The tires have very low miles on them, but I think I did see a crack in the sidewall on one of them. Just doesn't get driven enough, I guess. It's just about perfect otherwise.

$9k as it sits. A bit more if I fix the issues mentioned above and make it 100% perfect. If you are interested, PM me and we can talk further and I can send you pics. I suck at posting pics here, but there are some floating around, I'm sure. It's not a vehicle for everyone, so I understand if that's not what you are looking for. It is extremely reliable and well-kept, though, and gets a lot of thumbs up from all types of people and age groups because it is done tastefully, I believe.

My 05 Suburban w/ 5.3 is right about 150k and has no running / trans issues. I bought it with about 120k 2 years ago. Have driven it to Colorado, California, Houston a couple times and San Antonio, all without worry (knock wood). Will probably be taking it to Colorado again this summer.

Oh, and Jluv's Explorer is pretty damn sweet, and that system will rattle your brain.

                        Edit: Teaser Pic

Meh. In order to bullet proof them you need to do ~1-2k in mods, or spend a few hundred and do it yourself. 6.0s suck to work on too IMO. 7.3l is ready to roll and gets great fuel mileage.

Oh yea, it's definitely slow. $100 tuner helps a bunch, but it's never going to have the power of a tuned 6.0.

With a straight pipe they sound great. Gets rid of the highway drone too.

I wish it was that cheap! Can't get gaskets and studs done for close to that.
