  • Coyote or GT500

I'm looking at buying a used car in the next couple months. Which would be a better all around car 2011-2012 GT and throw on a whipple 2.3L or 08-09 GT500 with pulley changes?

    Thanks,

    Scott

    If you're going to get a GT-500 get a '13-'14 otherwise get a Coyote.
    '93 Cobra-Coyote Powered
    '13 Dodge Cummins
    '14 Rubicon X

Still pricey and not worth it, IMO.

Nothing actually, the 2010/12 have a 5.4 vs 5.8, no VVTi and that cool advanced traction control dingy. The blowers are different I think, other than that they are pretty much the same except for sheet metal, bumper covers and lights. And of course down a few RWHP...

08-09 GT500. Prices on them have bottomed out. The 11-12 GTs are going to continue to depreciate.

Oh and to the OP, get a 5.0, but I have seen a couple of 2011 GT500's here locally for $38k (44k miles) & $43k (19k miles) so I don't see how Jeff thinks a 13/14 SVT for 55-65k+ are in the same ballpark...

I asked the same question awhile back:

I ended up going with a 2013 GT M6 401a Premium. I've put 19k on it in a year and a half, and I do not regret it at all; although I sort of wish I had gone with a California Special. The problem with that is I like several aspects of the '12 CS and some of the '13. I put the spoiler and side scoops on; once my tires wear out I might start looking for some '12 CS wheels.

Yup, I love my car, going on 3 yrs and 35k miles. No regrets and I have no problems, except for a battery and warranty took care of that.

I've got some good Brembo wheels you can buy!
