Speaking of boots.. What would you guys recommend for a low cost work type boot? Under $100 preferably (if even realistic). They would only get occasional use, so should last a while. No steel toe needed, or anything like that. Looking for comfort more than anything.

Academy started carrying the boots I wear to work every day, they are $150 but last really well and are very comfy. I wear the nonsteel toe version. I think I'm only on my 3rd pair since 08 wearing them 5 days a week and sometimes on the weekend if I go to the deer lease.

I just picked up some Ariat from Bass Pro, very nice so far.

Stay FAR away from ariat caiman's! Every pair I have seen has split!

Not sure if you can find Anderson Bean Caiman's around here or not. I would look for a pair of those. My next pair will probably be Beans

I dont see how cowboy boots are comfortable. My feet hurt just looking at them.

The key is to get the right boot. They all fit just a little bit different. I would find a mom n pop western store with a good selection for your first pair. Or, a chain store with older sales people. They are more likely to spend the time to make sure you get a proper fit
