Sometimes its just not worth even trying to educate someone that is so hopelessly ignorant.
I like talking to GN and T-type owners and asking them about their cars. I tell them I had a WH1. Most have no clue what that is. And many say "was that the Citation?" or "well the Citation was a much a different car that the turbo Buicks!"......lol

Haha, might be allowed to, but shouldn't! I do have these twin fuel pumps and 1400cc injectors laying around, might need to beat up on a scion soon, lol.

Only if they are grandpa gold and either a Lincoln Towncar or a early 2000's Buick.

I always liked the paint scheme on the Designer Series...very classy looking ride. I guess "technically" my 83 T-Type could have been a test run for the paint scheme that became the WH1.....sadly my carbed 83 was just too far gone to devote money into...so I sold it and got the GN.

If you see a clean 86-87 pop up around here for sale keep me in mind. I would like to add one to the collection.

I had the the 86 WH1 and an 87 GN, at the same time, back in about 2000-01. Had to sell them to pay for college.

I didn't see it but looks nice in pix.

Terms like 3/4 race cam, stall converter and naws are just ambiguous. Most of those using the terms don't own tools and couldn't use them if they did.

I had to sit and listen to a coworker tell me all about how fast his brothers car was back in high school, and how he could whoop any car on the road, outrun the cops, and wait for it… yup he could put a $100 bill on the dash and you could keep it if you could grab it off the dash.
When I asked what it was, he pridefuly exclaimed “an 85 Camaro RS!!!”. Stock at that.

I'm the only person at my work with cool/ semi fast cars. Everyone comes to me to talk cars. Everyone has cool cars "at home", when I ask about the car they fumble around and forget shit cuz it's been so long. One guy did drive drive a beat up fox vert one day, when I asked about it...
he said "shiiiit pretty much erythang mane... Racing intake, racing throttle body, racing headers and mufflers, racing pulleys, and a racing clutch."
Me..."Damn that sounds fast, how much hp?
                    Him "bout fi fifty"

My best friend got grilled by an autozone employee because he "bitched out" and bought a V10 viper instead of the V12 viper. "If i buy a viper, I'm getting the fast one, the V12" said the autozone employee.

I've pretty much given up talking about my mystic to people... I used to explain it when I got the "where'd you get that painted" question. Or the dumb "chameleon" & "flip flop paint" comments. Or explaining the difference between mystic and mystichrome to people who think they know.
                    Detailing is an Obsession!!

I've run into lots of people that are full of shit as a Christmas goose and about as stupid, but that doesn't stop them from running their mouths.

One day I was walking into an Autozone and there was a guy in the parking lot with a Pontiac 301 engine sitting in the back of a pickup truck he had just gotten from somewhere. There was an Autozone guy out there there chatting with him telling him that he needed to do "this" and "that" to it when I knew that "this" and "that" wouldn't really help that 301. I had stopped to listen, realized that I was listening to a bullshitter, and I offered a little bit of my own advice. That got the self appointed Autozone expert all riled up so I shrugged my shoulders and just continued walking on into the store.

I mean, what the hell do *I* know about Pontiacs?

Don't these people realize that they come across as idiots to people that actually know a few things? Jeez.....

I get sick of this conversation. (About my 2010 GT)
                          Them: Is that a 5.0?
                          Me: no it’s a 4.6l
Them: oh, why didn’t you get the V8?
                          Me: I did it’s a 4.6l v8
                          Them: blank stare
                          Me: it’s a GT, GT’s have V8’s
                          Them: so it’s a 5.0?
                          Me: yes, it’s a 5.0

My mom has a 2001 GT. She has had it since it was brand new. I pretty much had this same conversation with her a couple years ago when she said she wished they still had v8's for the GT.

ricers tend to talk about turbos in reference to major diameter of the compressor wheel, so he's probably talking about something like a 56mm turbo

I just flat out stay away and out of conversations about stuff like that unless the person is knowledgeable.
