That would be an 82 Regal with the Grand National package...one of the 215 or so known to exist. Its not exactly the same thing as an 84-87...and you know it.
Was it sold as a Grand National? Was it offered with a turbo v6? Might not be the same as your Grand National, but it is a Grand National.
I made the mistake of setting my background at work to a picture of my Fox GT. Nothing crazy about it's appearance but it is on welds/slicks. Now I have to hear about bazillion horsepower complete titanium engine not-street-legal nonsense from a coworker old enough to be my father.

Have fun with it, shoot some seriously off the wall shit back at him. Keep doing it until he is convinced you are a moron and leaves you alone. Problem solved.

^^^Also a Grand National ^^^
Patrick we could go round and round for hours about this if we chose to.
You're missing the point...and I think intentionally. Yes...Buick sold a Regal in 1982 with a Grand National package..it wasn't turbocharged by default (yes..it was actually possible to special order a 1982 Regal Sport Coupe WITH the Grand National package)..it was an appearance package. Buick sold a front wheel drive LeSabre with the 3800 SFI V6...with the Grand National package...but again without a turbo.......it wasn't what most people think of when they hear "Buick Grand National".

It was intentional. I am going a bit stir crazy after being stuck in my house the last week, looking for entertainment where I can.

bring yourself to Red Oak and help me rebuild the front suspension on my 98 GMC K1500 4x4....and while you're here I'll show you what a REAL Buick GN is

Broken wrist bud, had surgery last Thursday to repair the damage. I have been too fucked up on drugs to drive.
My favorite is when I drive my cobra to work they all ask "how high do da speedo go". You know, because that is the fact that dictates how fast it can go.
Then they continue to tell me to put 'nawz' on it and if I don't it will never be fast.
I was with a client last week driving around his '67 GTO after a year long, frame off, to the nines restoration. We stopped at a local show and posted up. It seems there were a lot of doubters that it was a real GTO, lots of "tempest/lemans clone" comments. I guess because it had bench seats, column shift and it was a post coupe. However, we had the hood up and you could clearly read the original ID tag on the firewall. If you can't decipher an ID plate, then you shouldn't offer your "expert" opinion.
Lots of dumbshits out there that you just have to share air with.
I went and looked the car over today. It looks decent. Just going to need a paint job and some interior redone before long to make it look like it should. So to me, the selling price is not in the ballpark.
he could put a $100 bill on the dash and you could keep it if you could grab it off the dash.
I can't count the number of times I have heard this over the years...or When someone grossly OVER estimates their horsepower. I have learned not to argue and just give them a slight nod (yea man!!!)and get the fuck away from them as fast as possible
I get to hear some pretty wild stories at work from customers, and a really good one I got yesterday was, "you should check out 'So & So Racing Transmissions' because they install EVERY transmission they build in their race car and make a pass down the strip ! If it can't stand up behind their race car, they won't sell it to you !"
Now let that sink in for a minute....."they install EVERY TRANSMISSION THEY BUILD in their race car and make a pass...." Are you fucking seriously that God damned stupid ? Do you seriously expect me to believe that shit ?!?
I also heard the classic line from a different guy yesterday when we were test driving a '68 Chevelle SS396 4 speed that we have for sale...."my buddy used to have this bad ass Vega that you couldn't snatch a $100 off the dash !"
I just smile and nod at stupid shit like that but I secretly want to fucking throat punch the morons that spew that shit.
Ive heard some real idiotic shit myself. After finally racing an lt1 z28, I pulled into the store parking lot and the camaro owner followed, asked me to pop the hood, and stood there in shock that he lost to a 4 cyl SVO.
The diesel idiots are pretty bad too. Ive had a couple that asked me what they could do to make thier turbo sound like mine. Driving the 69 is rough too, since everyone knows someone that had one just like it.
