Yes it is. There's a neat picture around here of me in Germany right after my surgery

Yep, I remembered. Hope you're doing well today (and every day, for that matter), Jim.

I'm headed out to Ft. Hood at 3 am for our 10 year reunion. It's going to be interesting for sure and the memorial service is going to fuck me up but hey, soldier on.

Where on Hood are they holding the service? SOS center? If there is anything I can, don't hesitate. Nothing gets to me more than a battle in pain.

Thank you fixing this, just make sure you think through your posts in the future.

They're having it off of Clear Creek from my understanding. The Battalion moved while I was gone so I'm going to be following signs. April 4 fucks me up every year, this year is no different. (I'm about to be real for a moment, no Frost bullshit, no ego, just Jim)

There's a lot I have avoided dealing with in order to get 'better.' Tomorrow I find out exactly whom I've lost over the years and when they do roll call.... I've stood in those before and it rips your heart out. Anyone who doesn't know what it is, they form you up in your platoons and companies. The commander reads the roster out loud and as he reads your name you reply with "Here" or something similar. No problems. Then they come to the fallen and it's dead silent. They read it 3 times and then keep going. At the end, they play taps.

U.S. Army Reserve Command in Fort Bragg, N.C. holding a Fallen Soldier Ceremony honoring seven Army Reserve Soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice on Aug. ...

This should give you some idea.

I am familiar with it, my brothers platoon sent me the ceremony video that they held down range. Fucks me up every time.

I am never real sure of the best way to say this. I have many friends who served and have lost some of their closest brothers in arms. I thank you for your service and sacrifice, and that of your platoon. I am not too far down the road from you, I think I have mentioned it a time or two. Any time you need a hand, give me a holler.

Well boys and girls, awake and dressed and .... disarmed. That never feels right. No firearm, no ammo, no knife. I do, however, have my Gerber with me so that's something. May take a pen with me just in case. This being disarmed on base thing is a load of horse hockey.

Think of everybody else being "naked" too.
As tiring as it is, thanks for getting over and serving with dedication. Glad ya made it out. Happy anniversary probably isnt on the classy list I'm sure for this event

I'm sure if Frost is ever offended by someones questions, he won't hezitate to make light. Funny others are bugged more than him. Lol.

That was a long day. 4 hours each way and I sat with one of my deceased friend's father and mother for 3 hours talking about him. It was hard and the memorial service was touching and the memorial itself is absolutely beautiful. Was very odd being within eyesight of the location of the shooting from a few days before though.

I don't get offended easily. It took me a few years but I learned if I don't laugh about it I'll start crying and probably won't stop so .... yeah.
