  • Why the liquor stores close so early

During the morning/afternoon I don't think 'oh I feel like drinking tonight, I'd better stop off at a shop on the way home'. It hits without warning. If I get the urge at 7:40pm and leave, by the time I get to the shop - oops! After 8. The security guard at the one Spar got hostile with me when I got angry and insisted on a taking a bottle when the stupid woman at the counter was defiant that I couldn't.

What's the point in forcing shops to stop selling booze at 8? How primitive

Cause they want to go drinking themselves. Or maybe they want to get home before the drunks get out to get more beer?

                    Baptists are the reason.
I don't like Republicans, but I really FUCKING hate Democrats.

that's like saying fred phelps was the spokeperson for all Baptists. every religion has its bad eggs.

the blue law is good ole' conservative political bullshit from the 40-50's at its best.

you wanna change it? send a letter to rick perry, NOT your local Baptist church.
Just what in the fuck can he do about it?

You are dumb as a dog dick, if you think the governor can change a state law in Texas. He can't even tell most of the executive branch what to do, much less introduce legislation.

Maybe a better chance of influencing the public, but very little chance of influencing the legislature directly.

Percentage of DUI's already on the road after 10 pm, and robbery rates are one of the reasons the 9pm was chosen.

Not sure why they are still closed on Sundays, somebody should sue Texas because its violating their civil liberties and religion.

That's not a bad idea. Wonder if I could get a lawyer to take it up pro-bono.

Nice to see someone deleted Rodney completely this time.
