  • Most comfortable WALKING shoes??

I did a search and didn't find any newer threads about this.

My wife and I are going to Vegas and I wanted to get some shoes to walk around in. I've been to Vegas a couple times and I remember my feet hurting all the time from wearing Vibrams or slip on Pumas. Should I go for a running shoe instead?

I've looked on Amazon for a week now, there aren't many product reviews out there for shoes. I found a couple Reebok running shoes that say are really light weight and comfortable, but every shoe I look at says they are light weight and comfortable. The new Sketchers with the memory foam caught my interest, anyone try them yet?

ASICS GEL-Tech Neo 2 is what I use. Like them better than the comparable Nike's I had.

I have some sketchers with memory foam and I like them alright. They feel great when you first wear them. But they do develop indentations from your foot so those areas aren't so cushy anymore. I think if you wore them new on the trip it would be ok.

LS1 - Yeah I saw those Asics, they are near the top of my list. I've had Asics in the past and they are always pretty comfortable.

Barbie- Yeah that's exactly what I figured would happen. When you LAY on a memory foam bed your weight is evenly distributed so you don't get the indentations easily, but when all of your weight is on just a few sq. inches I'd imagine they would develop pretty fast.

The memory foam insert shoes mentioned from Sketchers are pretty comfy for a few hours at a time. IMO, they are not the best all day shoe. But really nice for a few hours. For an all day shoe (like walking Pate Swap), I prefer New Balance. I buy them from stores that carry the shoes in "wide". I hate Nike because they all feel like they are so freaking tight around the arch of my foot.

Don't get Vans. lol They look cool for certain events, but you will be hating life after standing up for more than 30 minutes.

I'll have to look into New Balance, I haven't looked at any of those yet. Yeah I'm really skepticle about the memory foam shoes, because like you said, we'll be walking ALL day long and not just a couple of hours.

I got some Nike Running shoes that are just as fine for long walking. I'm sure as hell not going to be doing any running in them.

Look into Merrell. New Balance and ASICS are good as well.

I got some New Balance walking shoes at Academy for our Disney World trip last year and they worked out great. Not the best looking shoes, but they did the job.

With NB, the higher the number (and price), the better the shoe. But when they're for a pricey vacation, they're worth it to protect the investment of actually enjoying yourself. Mine are 968's and I would do it the same way if I had it to do again.

Yeah I've tried many many Nike shoes in the past, they are good, I just don't think they'd be good for hours and hours and hours of walking.

Merrell... I've not heard of that, I'll have to check them out.

Yeah there are a LOT of New Balance shoes with tons of great reviews, I think I'm gonna have to go try some on this weekend.

I have a high arch, which makes it hard for me to find a good walking shoe...Newer shoes tend to have very little arch supports..my wife found some sandals for me a couple years ago with a very good arch support...they are one of the most comfortable things I have ever put on my feet...and I have walked many miles with them..If you like sandals then you should try some...They are kinda expensive for sandals though
