    State inspection ? (no hookup needed!!!)

    A friend of mine needs to get an inspection on his SUV. He has a small crack and a peice about the size of a dime broken out of one of his taillights.

    Would that cause it not to pass? The light works properly, just has the crack and little tiny peice broken out.

    Some idiot at work backed into him, and took off, and his inspection is die in April, not looking to buy a new cover unless he has too. (Volvo = $$$ plastic parts!)

    Most of the time they don't check, they have a mirror they can see from inside the car when they apply the brakes, if he put on a small piece of red tape, he should be OK.

      Thanks H'! I told him he may be able to cover it with some of that red tape, but depending on how much of an ass the dude is, he may dink it still, LOL.

        I can't imagine how much more of a cluster this inspection shit will get in a year when it's all on one sticker with the registration.

            Have him take it to the Grove and get it inspected there...

              It should fail if any light is admitted out of the crack or hole. Some lights are built where it wouldn't but most do.
