Details on the lathe!Comment

Sieg, sc8. Its an imported lathe. (11" x 30" size I think???) Good quality and the precision surfaces are right on and well within my tolerance standards. Total runout on the bed was .0005" The spindle was about .0003" Power carriage and cross feed in both directions, quick change gearbox, separate lead screw and drive shaft. It has done everything I need it to do so far. I like to work out of collets instead of chucks unless I am working with bigger material. Adapting a collet setup was a breeze. I also added the quick change tool post. I am machining mostly titanium with it. The DRO was extra and I had to install it myself. There were no provisions so there was quite a bit of precision drilling and tapping. I did most of that at work on a mill.Comment
