It turned out bad ass. I could not have asked for more out of Matt. All I had to do was call and order the material over the phone and even then Matt found me a killer coupon and I saved 30% on the material alone. This was a substantial savings and it still cost me $530 out the door in just material. I was pushing $700 pre-coupon. After that all I had to do was go pick it up when it was done. He went and picked everything up and built it in an extremely timely manner. Thanks for the recommendation sosoe. I wound up going with 2" square tubing with .250" walls throughout and a 3/8" thick top plate. The size is 30 x 96 x 36 and its a beast, I am sure it weighs in the 500-600lbs neighborhood. I have just been cleaning all of the preservative off of the underside and painting it the last couple of days. I will get it turned over tomorrow I am hoping and clean and paint the top side. Here it is so far....

Looks good. Nuts for leveling. Good planning.

I was there when he was building this, it is a beast. Your gonna need a crane to flip that thing over. But I doubt it will ever fall down or collapse.

That was a really good job and nice table. The 8' length was a little longer than most tables that would otherwise fit your needs. Put a wood top on it and done.

No wood here, I am bolting a lathe and a small mill to the top of this thing.

I like the idea of the bolts on the bottom to level it

I can't take credit for that, it was his idea all the way. Those are nuts for 1" bolts.

Shit is everywhere right now in my garage because I am moving everything around. It is normally much more organized than that.

Yup. Those nuts are $2 each at ace hardware.

Problem is that ace does not have 1" bolts. I can't find them locally and am going to have to order them I think.

Goto a tractor parts store. John deere has some bad ass bolts here.
