You know, I'm not going to just pay it. After sleeping on it, the worst case scenario is I waste time and still have to pay it. I'm fine with that. I'll fight it, there is 0 proof it was me, no picture to identify me, just my car. So I'll plead not guilty and make them prove it was me. If I'm going to have to pay the $75 to them, they will lose more than that paying the officials who will have to pry it from me.

If a vehicle registered to you gets a penalty the bill goes to your address of record, you get a certain amount of time to appeal it through their website but after that they raise it to $100 and will send a couple more letters, then you'll get a form letter from an attorney and after a couple of months they'll put a scofflaw notice on your registration renewal. The attorney will give up and sell it to a collection agency who might call and annoy you, then send some more letters and eventually it might turn up on your credit as a bad debt. If it gets this far you can protest the debt and get it wiped off your report but the scofflaw notice will stay until the penalty is paid, or the registration is transferred.
To summarize it's a private company under contract with the city. Law enforcement and the criminal court systems are not involved at all and will never be. You have absolutely no legal reason to have to pay these. If you are going to sue anyone it'd be the state of Texas for making it difficult to renew a registration over a civil matter, that you may or may not agree with. Unfortunately you have no constitutional right to drive a vehicle so the law is not on your side.

The officials who might have to pry the $75 fine from you will still get paid their regular salaries regardless of how you go about protesting. They might even get some premium pay for their time spent conducting a hearing with an alleged scofflaw. Now, that's showing them who's boss!Last edited by The King; 03-28-2014, 02:25 PM.

Excellent choices gentleman. How about we nuke the camera from orbit instead?Originally posted by talismanI wonder if there will be a new character that specializes in bjj and passive agressive comebacks?Originally posted by AdamLXIf there was, I wouldn't pick it because it would probably just keep leaving the game and then coming back like nothing happened.Originally posted by BroncojohnnyBecause fuck you, that's whyOriginally posted by 80coupenice dick, Idrivea4bangerOriginally posted by Rick Modena......and idrivea4banger is a real person.Originally posted by JesterMan ive always wanted to smoke a bowl with you. sorry guys, been away from the forum for a few days...
I don't see how I can download and rehost the video, and to give you the link to see it I'd also have to disclose personal info, so sorry, but nope.Originally posted by stevoNot a good idea to go Tim 'The Toolman' Taylor on the power phallus.

Just an FYI but as indicated in a previous post, at some point it will prevent you from renewing your registration. I have one that I have ignored, received the letters, then the threats for collection, and then the letter stating I may not be able to renew the registration. I went to renew online today and it will not allow me.
So...long story short, just pay the piper.

I thought about this thread the other night as I was going down Plano Pkwy. I don't live in that area, so I am not familiar with the traffic flow. I had 3 redlights in a row that went yellow at just the right moment so that I had to either get hard on the brakes or go through and take a chance on a redlight ticket. I wasn't speeding either. I was going the speed limit. I swear they must have sensors that trip the light to yellow to increase the chances of producing red light runners.
