Looking at buying a Explorer Sport this Fall. Anyone have one, if so have you had any problems with it and what kind of mileage are you seeing out of it?

And those fuel mileage figures look worse than my v6.

Maybe it was a v6 hell I never rode in it just saw it once at thanksgiving. She only had it for 8 months before totaling it. She had an 08 edge awd v6 blah blah that she traded for the explorer and said she liked the explorer better.
Me and the wife went and looked at a 13 escape with the 2.0 turbo ecoboost last night and it was pretty nice just lacked room inside. Im pretty sure the previous body style had more room.
*I just talked with her and it was a limited edition with the platinum white paint not the sport, was a 2wd with the 4 cylinder ecoboost. Mileage was 17-18 in town and 23-24 hwyLast edited by Blackpony; 03-26-2014, 10:17 PM.

They've had my eye lately as an acceptable daily.
They're rated at 242hp with the auto. The Focus ST has the same engine, but goes through an M6 and they boast a 252hp rating. I've owned both and the ST is quicker, but not by much. It only ran high 14s in the quarter, but the MPH was like 97 and 98. I'm sure the Escape can leave better, but it'll give up a little down the way with the auto and weight.
Cobb over in Plano is already turning many Focus and Fiesta STs through their shop.
