I'd have to disagree. Ohio gets what has been washed down the drain from Michigan and what's floated to the top of Kentucky and W Virginia.

I hope to live there someday, Sarasota is the nice and affordable and near some of Florida's best fishing. Its far enough from Tampa but not to far, about 45 minutes. So getting to the Airport isn't very bad, or big city things like concerts, ball games (Bucs & Rays) etc.
The humidity isn't as bad since the wind is always coming in off of the coast, but places like Miami and Jacksonville can be very humid and the further inland the worse it gets. Tampa's traffic is horrible and so is their I-75. Most homes have pools and a Lanai is the norm because of bugs, gators, snakes and critters. I love it down there, living anywhere along the gulf coast is heaven for me since the fishing is great, nothing like eating fresh caught seafood...

I spent a week on one of the islands outside St. Pete, I really liked the area, seemed like somewhere I wouldn't mind living.

I hit the deep water out of Sarasota Bay, nothing like fresh Redfish.

Siesta Key Beach, just leave me there all day with a book, an ice chest full of alcohol and pick me up right after the Sun sets...

No emissions and you can run with a O/R pipe. Not sure if this has changed.

I lived in Naples, Fl and loved it. I worked at budweiser but Since I was on commission, during the off season I didn't make enough money to survive.

I've spent a bit of time in Orlando and Miami, and I don't think you could pay me enough to live there....

Palm Beach area is nice though. I just don't think I could tolerate the weather, humidity, and sinkholes.

My dad moved there after divorcing my mother back in the mid '80s. He lived in Coral Springs for about 10 years, before he and his new wife moved into a condo in St Augustine. They bought, renovated, sold or leased anywhere from 4-5 condos at a time on Anastasia Island and made a killing doing it. He now lives near JAX and is out of the condo business but they had a great run for about 15 years. I loved to visit there as an adult and even lived down in Coral Springs for a year when I was in the 6th grade. I can't pry the old man out of that state and I have tried all sorts of tactics. I kind of can't blame him though, fuck winters.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

I lived just north of Jacksonville for almost 6 years. Yes it rains a lot, lots of bug, lots of humidity. There are great beaches and tons things to do there. I wouldn't mind Cocoa Beach area to live.

It does rain just about every afternoon in the summer.

Correct. Traffic is terrible... so get a place the opposite direction of normal traffic flow and you will be fine.

Yep - I lived just SE of Tampa it was great. We were 45min from Anna Maria Island and it is one the best, most chill, least populated beaches I have ever been to; in fact, we go back there for vacation every year.

You don't really have to worry about hurricanes on the W side of FL.
