DFWMustangs stock market game 4 starts 3/25/2014

Cnbc said there were lots of mutual funds that could not get orders filled. Not knowing the system, not sure the little orders would get filled even if you wanted shares.

I was not having much luck with my Scottrade picks ( ICPT, WYNN, JCP, FCEL and VAPE) so we put a fairly large chunk in a mutual fund...PCUFX.

Vape is up big time. 1.32 to just over 3 bucks. In a week.

i joined another random game on marketwatch this week. It is a 100k game. I was up 10k earlier today by shorting USU. Just went back to check it.....lost 49k

Ended the day only down $2500 after all that!! Late day fade almost got me back to green!!!!!

LOL, your luck is about like mine. Stock climbs for several days, decide to buy in and it pulls back! Maybe we need to tell each other when we buy something, so the other can short it!

I was going to buy a small amount of FNMA....but decided that I did not want to ruin the other owners stake in it. I know a couple of guys on here have done well in the past few months with it.

I have been watching that in one of the virtual games. Bought $750 worth in the game and it is now worth $200....




In other virtual game news. I shorted USU (24k shares) and lost everything for a few days. I was -$110k mid week last week. Today I am +$130k.

Yeah it has taken a hit. They have brought in consultants and are sourcing equipment. I am hoping for a strong report later this year/early next year....we will see

I just looked back at it and it is now worth $150. So I have 500,000 shares. Maybe it is worth tossing $150 in and buying it for real now. Then just hope it gets to $1 before I die! Cowhides!!!!

Definitely a learning experience, hell I'm barely doing better with my actual stocks than this simulation. I have a lot of work to do.
