  • NTTA tolls from from 2012??

I got a bill today from the NTTA for $8 and when I logged on to pay it I see $44 worth of tolls with half of them being from 2012 and june of 2013. These are not late tolls they are uninvoiced. What the heck?

Also got a bill from a creditor today saying I owe $71 for unpaid tolls, of which I havent received any paper invoices for.

Pretty tired of this organization, I swear it's racketeering. What can I do here? How can they even charge you tolls electronically if you havent signed or agreed to anything?

I got a bill from 2011 a few months ago. They don't bill you until it meets a certain amount. I guess they caught me a few times out of a hundred riding on their roads

And now they're not going to let you renew your registration if you have outstanding tolls. It's definitely a racket, and your politicians support it completely.

I'll be writing my politician on this, this isnt the first time this has happened and unfortunately it seems like there isnt a whole lot you can do with this organization besides roll over and take it....unsat.

I understand late fees and what not but I know for a fact these guys havent been sending me invoices and are always coming up with SOMETHING you are "Late" on. This is ridiculous, i'll probably be paying $71 on a toll that started as $8.

You got it. They zapped me for $220 for tolls plus fees - keep in mind that is $210 worth of late fees - for tolls I got in my Ram back in 2010 and 2011. I never received any paperwork, email, anything. I wouldn't have known about the charges, but I logged onto the site to change the credit card and that's when I noticed it. I was pretty pissed to say the least.

So, my credit card they had on file expired. The email notification went to my junk email account, and I must have missed it. Anyhow, with late fees, the amounts were outrageous. I called them up, and they waived the late fees if I gave them a new CC, and did it before the amnesty date ended when the new law went in to effect, blah blah blah. I took care of ALL outstanding invoices. I logged on the other day, to request a tolltag for another vehicle. There were 22 more outstanding charges, totalling $1300. All dates were prior to when I noticed the cc had expired, and took care of the outstanding invoices. I'm still fighting with them. Why these weren't included in the original bunch, I have no idea. But it's pretty irritating.

I guess their assumption is you drove on the roads knowing it was a toll road so by that you agreed to pay. You have to pay for your steak at dinner why wouldn't you have to pay for the toll road you knowingly drove on. But I do agree their billing department sucks ass.

I think Patrick is on the right track. If you make it too costly for them to do business they might just get out of the business.

Yeah I was reaching beacuse I was/am pissed. Still mad about everythign else. This isnt the first time they have pulled something like this. I feel they are seriously lacking in some oversight. I'm curious to see what the head shed makes and what kid of bonuses they are handing out. I dont mind paying tolls I guess, its way faster than other routes but this is ridiculous.

Nah, they would form a government funded task force to catch the offending terrorist.
