...and thanks to this thread. I put a note in my phone to have my wife put on my Dress Blues jacket when I get home. My fellow Marines know what time it is.
Keith, I'm willing to go help out there, just let me know when is best for her...
Good I'm glad somebody took action. Too bad so many more go under the radar. They do it all the time for firefighters as well. Can tell you how many times somebody has said they work or McKinney, and I have never heard of them.
I get guys that come into work all the time wearing DFD shit. And they always throw some random ass firehouse number when I ask them where they work at. Sad thing is 3/4 of them have full on beards.

I appreciate the offer but gonna have to pass. Besides I don't think you would fit in my old jacket and she wouldn't let you take her place anyways. Thanks though.

That's the easiest way to spot a fake fire fighter, stache or nothing.

He will spend the rest of the day wondering if he is gay.
As to uniforms, I only held on to one field jacket. I can get it on but it's really snugged when zipped up. I intentionally saved it specifically to give to my son.
This was issued to me just before heading to Korea. But both there and my two units stateside issued me gortex jackets. That's why the field jacket is still like brand new after owning it for 20 years. It was issued to me in January 1994 at Fort Leonard Wood.
The patch is from when I was with 1/3 ACR, after Korea. I still have several Indian head patches (removed from my uniforms when I pcs'd to 1/3 from 1/506.
I also still have one "winter" bdu blouse I held on to. Couple pair of boots too, including some matterhorns issued to me in Korea and Rockies issued to me in Colorado Springs.
