I have a pair of TRU Spec camo pants that I wear down to the ranch when I'm working in the brush and getting dirty all day, and I haven't found a single pair of jeans that'll take the abuse like the TRU Spec pants will. Both Dickies and Wrangler jeans either tore or wore out before those pants did.

He will spend the rest of the day wondering if he is gay.
Wasn't directed to anyone or at anyone. I actually typed and hit submit before I saw your post. That was the nice thing about 90% of the Marine uniform, our rank could come off with a little brass backing.
edit: and I don't take issue with it just that I wouldn't.
We could wear the pinned rank as well, which many did (including myself until I hit E4), but there was a great convenience to get the sew on stuff rather than having to put it on and take it off every time you launder, and have to worry about repainting them when the black began to wear off exposing the brass.
I did always keep the metal rank insignia on my cap.
I will say that in most TO&E units E2 and E3s were generally dicouraged from getting sew on rank, since promotions come fairly quickly. Can't tell you how many times I heard an NCO saying to a Jr Enlisted "Oh, sew on rank huh? Guess you don't plan on getting any promotions any time soon."
Public disturbance I believe. I read an article that said he'd approached the guy wearing the uniform on multiple occasions telling him to take it off.

I don't get it, if I wasn't on base or doing official business I was never in uniform. I got rid of most of my uniforms when I separated and the few that I kept are just for nostalgia.
...and thanks to this thread. I put a note in my phone to have my wife put on my Dress Blues jacket when I get home. My fellow Marines know what time it is.

That was the Air Force trying to be fancier than everyone else. I remember seeing the DFAC sign on the building at Lackland last time I was there. I'm sure there are probably still some bases that use the term though.
