  • Wakekite ??'s

Anyone here familiar with or have a wakekite setup. We've considered getting a setup for a couple years now and it was brought up again the other day. It looks like a fun addition to boarding, just looking for some first hand experience before pulling the trigger.

Been told it is very important to be trained how to ride first to avoid injury.

If I'm going to be seriously injured doing something, it isn't going to be that.

Right. The group I ride with has started wake surfing a lot more than anything else, because it's so much easier on the body because of the slower speeds and no air being involved.

I like riding the wakeskate a lot since it's not strapped to you feet. It makes wipeouts a lot more forgiving, compared to being strapped to a giant brake in the water when the wakeboard digs. The kite looked like fun for getting a little air, but "when things go wrong" moments are what concerns me lol. I haven't had the opportunity to try wake surfing, and my boat doesn't throw a huge wake so I don't see me being able to enjoy that without the use of someone elses boat.

Not that Wakeboarding is good for your knees, wakeskating is a huge ACL killer. I pretty much stopped wakeskating after watching three friends blow their knees out.

We don't push it too hard, healing takes too long and work always comes the next day. How were they blowing there knees out, sideways movements or bending them backwards?

Landing with one foot on and one foot off the board going wake to wake or kick flips.

I'm pretty safe then, we are fat boys lol. Other than popping the board a little, I don't see much air on the wakeskate other than cannonball dismounts
