Let's be honest. Its Irving. Most take a lot less than that.

My oldest child is a 12 year old boy, and I know if he's about to lie before his lips start moving. Body language says it all.

A stranger in your house at that hour, can really only be there for a handful of reasons.

To steal, to kill, to rape, or, when you have a teenage daughter, to nail her. The reaction and body language of a dramatic teenage girl is going to be vastly different if one of the first three scenarios is the case, than it would e for the fourth. Surely you know this, and you're just playing Devil's Advocate.

I don't know shit about what I'm talking about, but I could see the situation going down with the girl screaming hysterically she didn't know him, and the boy acting very suspicious, he tries to engage the father to make an escape. All of it could have happened in a few seconds. I could realistically see the case being made the father reacted when the kid reached for something.

Nothing else needs to be justified or said other than shut the fuck up, Donny, you're out of your element.

It's possible. I've got no doubt she screamed. But was it a "oh fuck I'm gonna die scream? Or was it a "oh fuck I'm busted" scream? No doubt this all could have been avoided had she told the truth from the get go. But lying isn't a crime, unless under oath. So while she is largely responsible, I don't see how anyone could make something stick with her. And the father pulled the trigger, so he is ultimately responsible. I get that things happen quickly. But gun owners have a responsibility not only to others, but to themselves as well. This guy hasn't only altered the kid's life forever, but his own as well. You're in your house, gun drawn, and a teenager is hiding under a bed. Are you really in fear for your life? This isn't like the Zimmerman case hwre he was getting the shit beat out of him. At least, it hasn't been portrayed that way yet. A "scuffle" could have been as insignificant as the kid trying to shove him out of the way to get out the door. Obviously time will tell as more facts are released.

But I think taking the stance of "I'll kill anyone in my daughter's room" is stupid. Kids do what kids do. I did it. My kids will do it. Killing someone over it isn't going to change anything or make anyone feel better.

All of that is true, and we don't know what happened exactly. All I'm saying is I could foresee a possibility in which the events described made what the father did seem reasonable. However, it could just as easily show he was belligerent. Yes, capping some kid because he was laying pipe in your daughter is absurd. Your daughter is a whore.

I've had many of these with my Dad. There were things I got away with, that he knew damn well about, it it wasn't worth making a big deal over. There were things I got away with, that he knew I did but went unmentioned to spare the feelings of my mother and siblings. And there were things I got away with because he was in denial. But the older I've gotten, and the more we've talked about things, he knew it all. Every last bit.

I thought I was a slick little bastard too. But the more time that passes, the more I find out he knew. He even remembers details I don't. As for moms, yeah, they are easy as shit to fleece.
Some yes, some no. There is shit that I got away with. He had suspected I was fucking off, but couldn't confirm.
