I know not everyone has had this advantage, but I grew up in places where you could get shot for this and daughters/kids knew it. Also, getting shot for trespassing - yeah it may go to cops but everyone would side with the property owner.

Even at 16/17 years old, kids are smart enough to know how bad they are messing up. To me the differentiating factor between what I did and what is going on here is the 0200 aspect. Even the after school hook-ups, I'd run like a son of bitch if I even heard a car on a gravel driveway a mile away - cause I knew anything could happen. (Honestly, it made it that much more fun)

When you say "I gew up in places where you get shot for this" I'm not entirely sure what you mean. Given some of the stuff that follows, I assume you mean rural areas. I grew up in DFW, but I spent a ton of time up at our farm. And yes, this was when everyone had a couple shotguns and rifles in the gun rack in their truck. Guns in every room, one on the patio, under the bed, nightstand, one on the hip, and one in the boot. Every summer, spring break, Christmas Break, 3 day weekends, etc; I was up there. As such, I had girlfriends up there too. Growing up in a rural place, you know there's not a whole lot to do. Fight, fuck, fish, and hunt. Those are the high points anyways. Fucking seemed to be the crowd favorite, at least where I was at. But I never once thought I'd get shot for crawling through a chick's window to get my dick wet. Sure, I knew there was a high probability of getting my ass whipped by a pissed off Dad, brother, or boyfriend. But I never imagined getting shot was a possibility. And I don't think I'm the only one that never considered that, either.

I understand it seems very severe and I probably would've sided with you before being a parent. Post parent - there is pissed off and there is the pissed off you get for protecting the kids. Messing with someone's daughter, at 2 in the morning, in a father's home is the perfect recipe.

On the flip side of that, I think being a parent is why I am taking the position I have here. I completely understand wanting to protect the family. Who wouldn't? I hope I'm not ever in the position to have to make that decision, but shooting someone is an absolute last resort. A George Zimmerman, on the ground, getting his head bashed in kind of decision. I feel a little sympathy for the boy here. He was just getting some nookie from his little girlfriend and got killed. However, the Dad is going to have to carry that shit around for the rest of his life. That he is responsible for the death of some kid because his daughter lied. I wouldn't want that shit on my conscience for the rest of my life. And yes it's easy to MMQB it on that. But this is why shooting should be an absolute last resort, and you better damn well think before you do. That's going to seriously suck. And think about his family, too. If he does get charged, he could do time. Think about all the years lost. How is your family going to get by without you? They're going to struggle, hard. Mentally, financially, etc. We all know people spout off "I'd kill that mother fucker" 100 times a day. But it's another thing to actually do it. You can't very well protect or provide from a jail cell. There is never a guarantee of it being no billed.

Circumstantial I think. I'd get his parents involved. A grown man peeking in the window would likely be handled differently.
