Rent a cabin up at Beavers Bend. Cruise the Quachita Mts, hit up Mena Mtn in Arkansas, take a canoe trip down the river, sit your ass by the lake/river (fishing pole optional) with a beer in hand (mandatory) and just relax and enjoy the peace.

Our next money's-no-object vacation will be Cancun in August (honeymoon), but on a semi-budget I'd drive down to Yosemite again, I can't seem to spend enough time there. We will get to Hawaii in the next year or two as well, and an Alaskan cruise is on the horizon.

        Leaving AA? Where you going?

Maybe I have you confused with somebody else...

We just got back from there today. Stayed in the beaver bend area but still had a blast. Rainbow trout were biting pretty well and it was good weather for a fire. A little rain but nothing too bad.

Camp and gold dredge on the Arkansas River/Clear Creek River for 6 days, drive home, and classify my concentrates on the 7th hoping I found at least 1 picker.

                Not me.

Right now I'm an engineer with Cummins. Staying with Cummins but branching out of engineering. I'm moving to Houston and taking over as the technical sales leader for a Cummins land based oil and gas product group.

Anyway, we made our decision (and it will make Aaron happy). We did the Ozarks last summer, we did tropical (Cancun) last fall, we did Yosemite last spring, we do Cabo every July, we'll be in Denver and Calgary in June, Yellowstone and Glacier are a shitload of driving (even from the nearest airport) that I don't feel like doing right now, so we're headed to the north shore of Lake Tahoe.

It's one of our favorite places in the world, and we figured that for a zero obligations relaxing celebratory time we'd rather go to a hands-down favorite than go somewhere new and be busy trying to explore. It's also where we got engaged.

And a Hike up to Lake Marlette is definitely in order

That was next on the list. Camping up in some thin air.

                ... Prague.

                One day lol. One day.

And btw...good choice on the career move. Very hot time for a sales move in the O&G industry.

What products will you be selling? Engine packages for servicing equipment?

The same stuff I've been doing lead application engineering work on for years. Main focuses at the moment are drilling power modules and workover rig power units for US and Canada (so yes, drilling and well servicing)

I'll still be close to the technical side though with input on new product development, strategy direction, and other things.

I was going to suggest Tahoe. Glad to see you picked it.

As a second, I was going to suggest the central coast of CA. We recently spent a few days in the bay area, then drove south through the forests and down the coast to Monterey. Wish we'd stayed there a little longer. The roads through the forest were like Mulholland drive, except with no traffic and filled with the scent of redwoods. Monterey had some of the best food I've ever eaten. Laguna Seca is just a few miles away. It's an area I'd definitely like to get back to.

Man, I wouldn't recommend somebody that doesn't ride to pick up a bike and ride there.

One week, Continental US? I would say Hike as much of the Appalachian Trail as possible. I would start north however in Maine, and go south instead of the normal GA start headed north.

This is on my bucket list of things to do in the Z06 before it inevitably ends up sold like all my toys.

                                Do it.

Made the drive in my C5 before I got married and it was one of the most surreal and soothing experiences I've ever had. Can't really explain it, but it was amazing.
