      Yup...I watched it live as well at school in class. It was the first time a teacher had gone into space. I remember all of the subsequent jokes about her death as well. Like...
      What color were Christa McCauliffe's eye?

        5th Grade - Casa View Elementary
        Was sitting on the bench waiting to see the principal when they came out and told us what happened....
        I can not remember why I was in trouble, but remember that day/moment like it was yesterday....

                            Watched it in class while in middle school. It was a big deal and a public announcement was made.

                            And nobody made any jokes about it. Nothing to joke about. It involved the loss of human life and put a major dent in NASA organization both internally and politically.

                              I was a sophomore in high school. We didn't watch it but a teacher from another class walked into our class and told our teacher that it blew up.
