I recall that day very well. I was in my 7th grade English class when it was announced over the PA.
Being the space nerd I was, I was trying to figure out what happened the second I heard the time after lift-off it blew up. I had a good book that had all that info in it, so I knew it still has the SRB's on it...Some cars and a bike...
