Emirates is a good airline. I had a few friends that were furloughed from AA shortly after 911. They went to Emirates for temp work until recall. They stayed and love it there. Treated well, modern equipment, great training, and the pay is fantastic.
They say that it is a very progressive there and the typical "middle east" attitude does not prevail.
I would ride on them for sure.Comment

If this would have happened before I bought my flight then I would have booked the Emirates direct to Dallas. But I booked the Delta a week before instead. I like the seats, equipment, meals and service on the Emirates flight but the passenger demographic annoys the living shit out of me. However, I would feel safer today on Emirates as the UAE has a superb intelligence gathering network and secret police. Their own airline is pretty safe in those regards.
