It's extremely easy. I got into trouble after my car wreck in 2001. Even back then you could take care of 99% of things just using the internet and the Credit Score companies sites. Dispute dispute dispute. Funny. 13 years later and that wreck is putting me through the same thing all over again. Glad I live in Texas.

Do it yourself. You'll learn quite a bit and it can be fun and rewarding seeing just a few letters make changes in your credit scores.

I was going to post a link to Creditboards. This is the only website you should take advice from. For just the cost of postage and time, since September I have improved from 540 to 730 and gained 40k in available credit lines.

Now if you want to say that you don't have the time to mess with it or care to learn, then you have a more solid excuse. It's a bit of studying but like I said, it can be fun and rewarding.

Just as a counter, I can cook but I still go to restaurants. Credit repair companies provide a service that people are willing to pay for. If one isn't super organized or efficient, the companies can neatly do the job in place of the disputer.

You don't have to be organized. You basically click a bunch of boxes on the sites.

I watched my parents always struggle with credit card debt so decided to not go down that road. We carry one card with a $1k limit for emergencies. Keeping a zero balance along with only having $1k of available credit hurts my credit score. I recently opened a Lowes card a few months ago when they were having an 18 month no interest promo and charged a tile install on it for the sole purpose of trying to boost my credit score. Pretty fucking stupid that I have to do that IMO.
If you paid cash and did not want to borrow money then a lower credit score would not matter. Your reasoning doesnt make sense; you paid cash because you didnt want debt, but were upset because you had bad credit when borrowing money, so you got more credit carda to go deeper in debt so you can borrow more money. Solid plan.
I don't like Republicans, but I really FUCKING hate Democrats.

The online disputes aren't the most effective methods. CMRRR is crucial, especially when it comes to litigation. Documentation is your best friend.

Also, IIRC, online disputes allow the collection agency additional time, where as written disputes only allow 30 days for them to verify with the CRA's and you don't have to worry about electronic documents potentially being inadmissable in court.

They were 100% effective for me.

Some people have a lot of luck with it. Though if you are dealing with higher balances and the potential to catch the collection agency in a violation of the TFC or DTPA it will pay dividends.

High credit limits does not equal high debt. I pay in full each month and don't carry balances. I had bad credit because I didn't pay my bills or didn't pay in time. People with good credit get better insurance rates, get deposits waived on things like phone plans and cable, and not too mention cash back and sign up bonuses. I've racked up about a grand in free money just paying my bills the past 5 months. I still recommend cleaning up your own. That way you are invested and hopefully more likely to avoid what habits gave you bad credit to begin with

I said I did not carry any credit card debt. I don't drive a train so still need to finance large purchases like a mortgage, hence the need for a good credit score. Lots of shit hinges on your credit score outside of getting loans.

And how am I going in debt purchasing something at 0% interest? How does that work?
