My attention seeking facebook friends threaten to kill themselves!

I have found several facebook post from friends posting these weak ass attention seeking post of suicide. Sure it’s a scary thought but I’ve found the real deal people who have died from suicide do not tell anyone of their plans to take their own lives. Is it that facebook is an outlet to seek attention. Honestly it makes me sick to read these post!

I'm AMAZED at the influx of attempts (and fulfillments) over the past few years. It's even from a wide margin of ages. (We just fostered a dog of someone who tried)

I wish people of this caliber had the mind to stop using the internet for social bullshit and instead embrace it for all of the self-help and healthy information that's abundantly available. I'll never understand. Hope you're able to help someone. If even by tough-love.

If you care at all about them I would pick up the phone and reach out. Had 3 in recent years, and all I wish I could have talked to to help. You never truly know the demons someone else is facing and one conversation might be enough to change.

Its mostly empty threats and a cry for attention, but they are reaching out for something.

I've got a HS buddy that twice has posted he killed himself/died. It appears like a friend or family member posted it (from his account) then I guess he waits to see peoples' reaction. Then a couple days later he gets back on and says someone hacked his account. Sad.
