Harbor freight with a 25% off coupon is a great deal with the warranty you can buy.

If I'm not using it daily/weekly I hate spending the money. I had a snap on that broke. No warranty. I gave the light and my battery to a friend with one.

I'm going to buy a harbor freight. I had the snap on about three years, bought one battery on top of it.

Edit: I've got a the large rotary hammer HF sells and I've been beating the shit out of it for two months now. Around 50 anchors, concrete chiseling, tile removal. I've used it as a mini jack hammer. I was going to rent a hilti to install anchors, the HF cost the same as a rental for a few days.

I've got snap on for 3/8 ,1/2 and makita for 1/4

        They all work fantastic!

And I have matco for my battery powered 1/4 ratchets
        Those are great too

I use snap on for 1/2 and 3/8,but i use bosch for the 1/4. i rarely if ever pick up my air ir impact anymore. I still havent gotten past the size difference for the cordless ratchets compared to the air ones for the tight spaces that i use them in.

I use a 1/2 snap-on impact and love it. TURBOSVO has the 3/8 version and it does very well even on tires at the track. Although not the cheapest option but worth it IMO.

If you're looking for a beast, Ingersoll Rand followed by Snap On.

I went to my local harbor freight to get their 117$ 1/2 impact just for changing the tires on my car and they were out. So I drove up to the harbor freight on belt line and plano road but for shits and giggles stopped into sears to see what kinda prices they had and the craftsman was on sale for 86$ out the door.

                            Sorry to bring this back:

I'm looking at picking up an impact and maybe a combo set.

Does the 1/4" impact really bust lug nuts and more like the 1/2" drive can?

I found a brand new in box Dewalt 20v 5 tool combo kit for $375, no tax... but was thinking the 1/4 impact might not be tough enough to get things done...

I have never had any cordless impact capable of loosening 100ft/lbs of torque.

That 1/4" is not going to come close to busting a lug nut BUT it is a work horse for me. I have 2 of them (one with a quarter adapter and the other with a 3/8") adapter and they do MOST of the work on my car.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.
