Again I am ONLY talking about LEATHER soles. I have a pair of Luchesse's and Justins. I never cared for fancy exotic boots. I just like a pair of simple black ropers. I have had them resoled in the past for nearly as much as a new pair. But damn, how do you guys wear through rubber soles that fast unless you're a club footed hunchbacked ogres with palsy?

I've had my Tony Lama's resoled once in the 5 years I've had them, due to a monster hole in the sole. That's wearing them pretty much every day on the wknd. I haven't had to resole my Luchese's yet, but I only wear them on occasion.

I've got 2 pair of Larry mahan(sp). One pair is probably close to 4 years old on the original sole. The other pair is about 2 and half. Still look new.

I guess it depends on how you walk. I think my feet twist a little when I walk.

I have had the same pair of Mayhams for a few years now and only have had them resoled once. But that was back when I went dancing 4 nights a week, and wore them daily. Now I rarely go out and they aren't anywhere near as comfy with the new sole. So I don't wear them much now.

                Turn them into flip flops.

Where are you having them resoled?! My guy charges $65. Ask for a double sole, that will extend the life a bit.

Are you walking through the luchesse's as well as the justin's? If the Justin's are bent rails it isn't surprising as they are more an "entry level" boot. That line was introduced to compete with the Anderson Bean horsepower line of boots. The soles on the Bent Rails aren't quite the same quality as you get, on say their smooth ostrich. The problem now is, about a year and a half to two years ago a very large percentage of the ostrich population for skins was lost due to disease. Thi in turn caused prices on ostrich to dramatically increase. I picked up my Justin Smooth ostrich 4-5 years ago for about $215, now they are ~$325

Anderson Beans all the way. They lasted a year wearing them everyday, and will look new again when they return from the maker.

                    Everyday, not every weekend....

I know a lot of people who swear by Beans. Definitely a solid boot! My Justin smooth Ostrich have been on my feet damn near every day for 4-5 years and I just had them resoled last year. Thougg I went to a crepe sole to help with my back

Exactly the same here. Tony Lama Ostrich on my 5th sole and probably 8 heel caps. Have the boots over 15 years. Used to wear them daily but ever since I became a super high end C level executive, I have to pimp the Bruno Magli dress shoes.

I had a favorite pair of gray lizard skin boots. The original soles lasted about two years. I found a shoe repair place in a mall somewhere (I think it was prestonwood) that would resole them for about $25. Had them resoled several times before the uppers finally wore out on them. Those were the absolute best pair of boots i've ever owned bar none.
