Lake of the Pines, Martin Creek Lake, and (soon) Caddo Lake. Martin Creek produces a shit ton of bluecats in a two months period, but you have to find them in a boat, and then fish with trot lines, jug lines or a bunch of rods. They move in huge packs, no fish for an hour or three then every damn pole gets yanked for 30 minutes, then back to nothing. Jugs and trots work much better. It is a hot water lake, so everything you know about normal Texas cat fishing goes out the window.

I am SOOOO fucking ready for mid February to roll around, will be time for me to go into fishing mode... will be there until May. Missed out last year, but year before last I was pulling in between 50-250 pounds of whole catfish a day, doing it about 3-4 days a week. Hell, for a while I was sleeping on the boat, waking up enough to just finish catching my limit. I filled several friends and family members up refrigerators.
Odd thing is, most of that fish never was frozen, it was nearly all cooked within days of being caught. I spread it around to about ten families, so I was happy to be able to get some people that never get fresh fish some for a change. A few of those are elderly, and they cannot physically be able to fish, or cannot afford to go fishing. These are the same neighborhood people that I many times share my crawfish boils with. I might live in the fucking hood, but most everyone knows I will hand out some tasty shit come spring, so I'm pretty much in good standings with the neighborhood goons.
It is nice to know that when it comes to chowing down on mudbugs people stop being cracker-assed white trash and niggers and just become people bull-shitting and eating good food. I guess food truly does bring people together.
On one really big haul, I had a decent fish fry at a friends house in another town where I cooked about 30 pounds of fillets, 40 pounds of potatoes and my wife made about 25 pounds of cold slaw and a gallon of tartar sauce... and all that shit lasted less than 30 minutes! I swear, we had 10 people at the fish fry, and within minutes, people called other people, those called other people, etc. etc and within 10 minutes there was like 50 fuckers chowing down. was all good though cause it seemed I brought enough to fill them all... but it is something to think of next fish fry. Either more fish, confiscate cell phones or locked gates I know I got way pissy when fuckers decided that the beer in the coolers might be just as freely offered. "Naw homie, come back with a 30 pack, dump it in there, then you can also reach in and grab one"
Holy shit, did I ever just go off on a random drunk tangent...

thats a great thing you did, I am really impressed
I can't wait for this warm weather this weekend. Today I caught a 8.5lbs largemouth (new personal best) yesterday just as it got dusk, and there was a monster that broke my Pline 20lb test. I tried something new and I can't wait until later on today

Very nice! My biggest largemouth was 8.1 while I was out striper fishing in sub-freezing weather on Lake Whitney. My largest one actually targeting them was a 6.7 from last year from Lake of the Pines casting weightless pussy-pink bubbglegum colored Sluggos onto bass holding beds in deep moss cover. I bet I caught 20 in three hours doing that.
My time soon will be all about the catfish, from catching the sunfish and shad for bait, to prepping the trot/ and jug lines, and cleaning then. The easy/fun part is pulling the out of the water.

Marine Creek, You can fish the east side along the shore behind the school, or if you have a truck there are some trails on the west side you can get down.
Find local businesses, view maps and get driving directions in Google Maps.
I also used to fish these two by Iron Horse after work when I lived there. You can walk the dam on the big one. On the little one I just walked between some houses on riviera to get to the south shore, went there pretty regular for 2 years and never once had someone tell me to leave.

The other spot I used to go is behind some apartments on 360, I would just go at 5 and follow someone into the gates park my truck and fish the shoreline.

Didn't know there were so many anglers on here! I'm down for a fishing get together. Anyone kayak fish? Any TFFers in here?
I want to get out on Marine Creek, it's pretty close and I need to stock some crappie fillets. Planning a trip to the Brazos below Whitney here soon. Need to hook a striped and go on a sleigh ride!
