LOL @ the puns! My brother in law (and longtime friend from here) is now a DPD, as is Jeremy's best friend of 20 years. I was raised in a Chicago Firefighter family.
That said, just like doctors/nurses/any service person in a crisis, they KNOW they've chosen that line of duty and come 2nd - or should. Period. Her gun being so quickly drawn amazes me.
Her not stating that she was "the cops" probably doesn't help her case. Even for the slightest neighborly dispute that a cop had to tap on my door - they ALWAYS called that out FIRST. Messed up to say the least.I no longer shift gears - I switch beers. Cheers!

I rented a room from a friend once. During that time I was on the other side of that door, with someone banging on it, while their thumb covered the peep hole and they remained silent other than the banging. I stood there with a Glock in my hand to the side of the man opening the door. I can only imagine what would have happened had I not been able to stash the pistol before the officer saw me when I saw that it was a leo.

Why would a cop do that? Someone doing that is going to raise the hell out my suspicions and CAUSE me to get a gun. I don't even answer my door 90% of the time when I CAN see someone out there knocking on it. I also disabled my doorbell so if the big sign I have telling solicitors to leave me alone is ignored isn't effective I still don't even know they're there.
