Just poking fun Eric, though looking back, I grew up in an Aerostar, and am glad that my step-dad didn't have the same aversion. It was a lot easier to maneuver in and out of.

My dad had a full size conversion van we used to road trip in, and it was his DD. It was pretty bitchin'. I do like having high visibility out of the windshield, but HATE the sacrifice you pay for with handling. That's why I'm not really considering an SUV. That and they usually get shit gas milage.

people born in/around the 60's rode in the back of a station wagon, and thouht they were too oldschool for them. So they bought minivans in the 80's and early 90s. The next generation went away from minivans and to SUV's. Now we are full circle back to wagons.

The 5.0 is a chick magnet. Your $5k 200k mile ragged out wagon will not be any more of a chick magnet than a square body crown Vic.

Not the same one, but e39 tourings are easy to find. This one just needs mpars.

And, regardless of age and price, they are damn good vehicles when preventative maintenance is done.

Yeah, really would prefer a 540 over a 528 for obvious reasons. Black with tan interior. Can't do grey interior again, I hated it in my 740. So damn bland. Aren't some of those M dual 5 spokes different offsets?

This is starting to get creepy, so did my (bio) dad. On just about every road trip to NM or CO for skiing, I'd end up using the little sink in the back as a porta potty. He built a custom TV cabinet in ours before it was the in thing, and even hooked up my Nintendo.

and the squire wagon will be cheaper, more reliable, and they're like driving a fucking couch down the road... easy on the back

and I'm sorry, but I've never needed a fancy car or truck to get laid... I've never really been interested in women that gauge a man by the car he drives

Ours came with the TV cabinet and TV but no sink. We drove from Arlington to Boston in that thing.

in what Bizarro-world do "chicks" prefer Mustangs over BMWs?

Not only that but if you (collectively) are 30+ years old and the car you purchase is based on being a "chick magnet" or not, you may be doing it wrong.

True. But a lot of these were garage queens and there are tons of low mile examples out there. If 94-96 is on the old side, what does that say about you?

I was being sarcastic about the chick magnet thing obviously. I'm just not going to drive a goddamned mini van. Something like this would be awesome though!:

For Impalas, you're probably right. Not for Caprices, Roadmasters or Fleetwoods though. Those were sold to the "old lady just drove to church on Sunday" types.

I know everyone here tends to hate on Dodge cars, but how about a Magnum?
