  • shipping/transport for a chassis?

Are there any websites or good places to get ideas on cost to ship a frame? I found a frame for my project but its in CA and Im in DFW. seller said to check with some long range haulers that may be taking stuff there and have an empty load coming back. Is there a website or easy place to find this kind of stuff? Its a good deal on the parts but not if I have to pay a ton on shipping.

Are you getting it palleted at least? I'd be scared some idiot with a forklift would fuck it up.

right now its just the frame. he said he could throw some axles in it and make it rolling if it helped but as of now no pallet...just trying to weigh it out to see if its doable. If it was 20 or less hours I'd consider the road trip but its like 26-27 so don't think I can swing driving it in a weekend. didn't know what the odds of haulers having space left. its just a bare frame so not too much to screw up

I've had occasional success with UShip years ago. Some truckers did it dirt cheap, some offers were way out there.

Just throw it on uship with a picture let them bid it out and it will give you estimate of cost.

I drove over 1200 miles in one day a couple of weeks ago. You can do it.

The odds are very good that a trucking company would have enough space for it on the back of their trailer. Depending on how easy it is to load, you could probably get it hauled to DFW pretty cheap.
Freight is pretty slow in CA right now.

I've used neither of these, but have only heard glowing reviews. I would trust either of them with car stuff, as they both advertise on vintage car forums and are constantly hearing feedback.

I got it on us hip right now. So far no bids but hopefully I get a couple before it's up. I got one more source to check with during the week just wish it was a little closer so I could do the road trip!

I drove a Mustang hauling my fat ass. It's practically the same thing.
