Nestle USA issued a recall notice for two varieties of Hot Pockets in response to a meat supplier’s recall of beef, the company announced Tuesday on its website and Facebook account.
The voluntary recall includes Philly Steak & Cheese Hot Pockets and croissant crust Philly Steak & Cheese Hot Pockets.
“The reason is due to the recall announced last week by Rancho Feeding Corporation which affects many companies,” Nestle said in an announcement on its website.
Rancho Feeding Corp. recalled nearly 9 million pounds of beef because the company processed “diseased and unsound animals,” according to the United States Department of Agriculture, making the meat “unfit for human consumption.”
If you have any of the affected Hot Pockets, Nestle asks that you not consume them but instead return them to the place of purchase for a refund, or call the company customer service line at 800-392-4057.
